Faculty: Christina Recktenwald (voice)

Christina Recktenwald, voice facultyChristina Bouras Recktenwald has enjoyed an international career in opera, singing with New York City, Seattle, Cleveland, Santa Barbara, Sarasota, Kentucky, Spoleto, Japan and Glimmerglass Opera Companies, among others.

Christina holds music degrees from The Juilliard School, The Curtis Institute of Music (Philadelphia), and Shenandoah Conservatory (Winchester, VA). She also holds a Masters degree in Elementary Education from The University of Louisville. Christina has taken her love of performing into the teaching realm. Currently residing in Louisville, Christina is an elementary reading interventionist, as well as a private voice teacher. Christina is Children’s Choir Director at Second Presbyterian Church in Louisville, KY, where she has also been soprano soloist since 2008.

Christina is thrilled to return to The Philadelphia International Music Festival for her third season as part of the Vocal Faculty of The Musical Theatre and Opera Camp.
