The Philadelphia International Music Camp & Festival (PIMF), featuring members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, has been hosting live international competitions for nearly 25 years. 

In 2020, PIMF launched a semi-annual Virtual Concerto Competition – welcoming hundreds of talented musicians from throughout the United States and around the world to compete online. 

Winners of each division: Junior Division (Ages 6-11), Young Artists Division (Ages 12 – 15), Senior Division (Ages 16 – 19) receive partial scholarships to the Philadelphia International Music Festival. The Grand Prize Winner receives FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIP. All division winners are awarded an invitation to perform in the annual PIMF WINNERS CIRCLE, which regularly includes performances from Principal Players from The Philadelphia Orchestra.

PIMF awards over $20,000 in scholarships in each virtual competition!  

Submission must be uploaded by Midnight EST, April 30th, 2023. 

Winners will be announced on May 20th, 2023.

Three Age Divisions

Three age divisions. Students 6 – 19 years of age. Over $20,000 in scholarships* awarded. Three performance opportunities awarded.

First 25 submissions in each age division receive an automatic $150 scholarship* towards any PIMF 2023 Summer Program!

*Scholarships may not be combined with any other PIMF scholarships or financial aid.

Junior Division

Six to Eleven (6-11) Years of Age.

First Prize: $1200 Scholarship to PIMF 2023 and an invitation to perform in the PIMF Winner's Circle Concert in Philadelphia, PA

Second Prize: $750 Scholarship to PIMF 2023
Third Prize: $450 Scholarship to PIMF 2023

Six to Eleven (6-11) Years of Age.

First Prize: $1200 Scholarship to PIMF 2023 and an invitation to perform in the PIMF Winner's Circle Concert in Philadelphia, PA

Second Prize: $750 Scholarship to PIMF 2023

Submission Requirements: 

One movement of a concerto of choice must be submitted with each entry.

Performances may be accompanied or unaccompanied.

Video submission required. Audio-only submissions will not be accepted.

Video must be readily accessible. YouTube link is highly recommended. Be sure link is marked “Public” before submitting.

Videos must be unedited “single take” video recordings. Multiple recordings may not be “spliced” together.

Submission must be received by Midnight EST on April 30th, 2023.

About Our Adjudicators

The Adjudication Board at the Philadelphia International Music Festival annually includes some of the most outstanding musicians in the classical world. Past adjudication board members have included Marc Rovetti, Assistant Concertmaster, The Philadelphia Orchestra; Kimberly Fisher, Principal Second Violin, The Philadelphia Orchestra; Hai-Ye Ni, Principal Cello, The Philadelphia Orchestra; Boris Allakhverdyan, Principal Clarinet, Los Angeles Philharmonic; Yu Xi Wang, Pianist, Curtis Institute of Music; and many others.
