The Adjudication Board at the Philadelphia International Music Festival annually includes some of the most outstanding musicians in the classical world. Recent Highlights

Concerto Competition winner Miro Raj was featured January 12th, 2019 with Symphonicity, conducted by 
Daniel W. Boothe, during their “Jurassic Journey” Lollipop Performance in Virginia Beach.

ABOUT MIRO RAJ

Miro Raj is an 11 year old violinist from the Philadelphia area. He is currently studying under Lee Snyder at The Settlement Music School. He is a Philadelphia Region Youth String Music (PRYSM) artist as well as a PIMF concerto competition winner.

Julian Shively, a native of Trumbull, CT will perform as soloist with the New York Session Symphony (NYSS) on May 11, 2019 at Broadway Presbyterian Church in New York, NY. This performance is a result of Julian winning the Concerto Competition at the Philadelphia International Music Festival (PIMF) in Bryn Mawr, PA in July 2018.

About Our Competitions

The Philadelphia International Music Festival has been hosting international competitions for over 20 years.  Our repertoire of contests now includes instrumental concerto competitions, piano competitions, ensemble and orchestra competitions.

First and second place winners of each individual competition are awarded a $500 scholarship to PIMF, a permanent listing on PIMF’s “Winners’ Corner,” inclusion on the PIMF “Winners’ Circle” on PIMF.org, and an invitation to perform in the annual PIMF Winners’ Recital with Kimberly Fisher, Principal Second Violin of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and other members of The Philadelphia Orchestra. 

The overall competition winner each year is awarded a $1000 scholarship to PIMF, a permanent listing on PIMF’s “Winners’ Corner,” inclusion on the PIMF “Winners’ Circle” on PIMF.org, an invitation to perform in the annual PIMF Winners’ Recital with Kimberly Fisher, Principal Second Violin of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and other members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and an opportunity to solo with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra or other community or professional orchestra.

Winners of the PIMF ensemble and orchestra competitions will be awarded: Featured performance at the following year’s Philadelphia International Music Festival, permanent inclusion on the PIMF Winner’s Circle YouTube Channel, and individual prizes.
