Faculty: Jeffrey Lang (french horn)

LangJeffrey Lang serves as Associate Principal Horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra and maintains a thriving horn studio at the renowned Curtis Institute of Music.  A New Jersey native, he has enjoyed an international career as principal horn of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the American Symphony Orchestra, and guest principal with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and The New York City Opera.  As an in-demand soloist, he has appeared with Zubin Mehta, Mung-Whun Chung, Kurt Masur, and Cristian Macelaru conducting.  Chamber music performances in the US and abroad have included concerts with pianists Bella Davidovitch,  Simone Dinnerstein, Melvin Chen, Natalie Zhu, and Sarah Rothenberg, and chamber groups the Israel Piano Trio, the Wister Quartet, the Canadian Brass, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. He has also performed at the Kingston Chamber Music Festival, Bard Summerscape, OK Mozart, and the Spoleto Festival.

Mr. Lang studied at the Juilliard School and Temple University, and has given masterclasses in Israel, Finland, Korea, China and the USA.  He has records for several TV, film, and commercial artists in the NY metropolitan area, and was principal horn of Disney’s long running Broadway hit, Beauty and the Beast. His solo horn album, One World Horn is a project for charity presenting unaccompanied horn works from around the world. A live recording of Richard Wilson’s Triple Concerto for Horn, Marimba, and Bass Clarinet with the American Symphony Orchestra is also available on Apple Music.

He is a Conn-Selmer artist, and an active member of the Recording Academy, the International Horn Society, and the American Federation of Musicians.
