Alex Jenkins is an active freelance double bassist and teacher based in New Jersey. After receiving his bachelor’s and master’s degree from The Juilliard School, Jenkins went on to perform with The Dallas Symphony, San Diego Symphony and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. He currently serves as Principal Bass for the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra and regularly performs with the Philadelphia Opera and Ballet.
As a passionate educator, Jenkins taught for five years through Juilliard’s many educational outreach fellowships. Jenkins has sought out teaching and outreach opportunities in every professional orchestra he has worked with and thoroughly enjoys passing along the knowledge that has been given to him over the past twenty years.
When not performing or teaching, Alex enjoys spending time at the beach with his wife and three dogs.
