Saturday, July 14th, 2018 – 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. (Registration Day)
For over 20 years, PIMF has welcomed students from throughout the U.S. and around the world for the unique opportunity of spending up to four weeks immersed in classical music education and performance training with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra and other internationally-acclaimed musicians. PIMF musicians have gone on to study at such universities as: Curtis Institute of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, James Madison University, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Miami University, Princeton University, Rice University, and many others.
While the musicians at PIMF are serious about classical music, and many aspire to be professional musicians, others use music to build the foundation for them to become great doctors, lawyers, scientists, arts administrators, and business leaders, among many others. It has always been the philosophy of the Philadelphia International Music Festival to encourage all students to pursue excellence in every area, regardless of career path.
New for 2018, we have added a special track focused on College Audition Preparation for rising High School Juniors and Seniors. Students in this program will have a daily College Audition seminar with guest speakers from various colleges and universities, as they prepare for college applications and auditions.
